Reflection
In Paul's world, Roman citizenship was the pinnacle of privilege — it meant status, protection, and rights that others could only envy. Paul himself invoked it when his life was on the line. But then he says to the church: what you have is better. Through Jesus, you have direct access to the Father. No system to navigate. No intermediary to appease. No citizenship to earn. Through Christ, by one Spirit, you walk into the presence of the Creator of the universe — as a child approaching a Father, not a subject approaching a king. That access never expires. It cannot be revoked. And it is available to you right now.

Father, I confess that I often live as though the door is still closed. Remind me today that through Jesus, I am welcome. I am near. I am Yours. Let me walk through the day with the confidence of a child who knows they belong.
