When You Bow, Something in You Breaks Open

Ephesians3:14
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,

Reflection
Paul is in prison. His circumstances have not changed. And yet he drops to his knees — not in defeat, but in declaration. The posture of prayer is itself a statement of who you believe is in charge. Paul doesn't open with complaints. He opens with worship. He opens with access. And the reason he kneels is rooted in everything God has already done — the mystery revealed, the gospel entrusted, sinners brought near. Before he asks God for anything, he reminds himself of everything. This is what prayer does when it is rooted in the gospel: it reorients you before it requests anything.
Application
Before you ask God for what you need, remember what He has already done.
Prayer
Father, I come to You today with my knees bent and my heart open. Reorient me around Your goodness before I bring You my requests. Remind me of all You have already done so I can trust You with what I am still waiting for.
